Project Overview
This exterior renovation in Englewood was completed by Scottish Home Improvements to address extensive hail damage and restore the home’s exterior with materials built for Colorado weather. The previous vinyl siding had been compromised by repeated hail events, creating both visual inconsistency and performance concerns. The homeowners wanted an updated exterior that stayed true to the home’s existing aesthetic while significantly improving durability and protection.
Scope of Work
The damaged vinyl siding was removed and replaced with a combination of James Hardie Aged Pewter lap siding and staggered shake siding, paired with Cobblestone accents for added texture and depth. All windows were upgraded to Pella 250 Series windows for improved efficiency and longevity. Hardie® fascia and soffit were installed throughout, replacing all previous soffits. Care was taken to match the home’s existing stonework to maintain a cohesive and original look.
Design & Installation Process
The design approach focused on blending new materials seamlessly with the home’s established aesthetic. The neutral Aged Pewter palette and staggered shake details provided visual interest while staying aligned with the surrounding neighborhood. Installation required extra precision, particularly when integrating a new drip edge with the Hardie® fascia system—one of the more technically challenging aspects of the project. Throughout the process, materials were selected specifically for hail resistance and pest protection, ensuring long-term performance.
Results & Impact
As shown in the before-and-after images below, this project resulted in a clean, cohesive exterior transformation that feels both refreshed and familiar. The new fiber cement siding dramatically improved the home’s resistance to hail and pests while restoring curb appeal after storm damage. By upgrading to durable, impact-resistant materials, the homeowners gained peace of mind knowing their exterior is better protected against future weather events—without sacrificing the aesthetic character of their home.
